Artists, artisans, design professionals, welcome to the Pawtucket Open Studios website!
Following the phenomenal public success of the Pawtucket Open Studios events in September and December 2006, we will again collaborate with the annual and highly popular Pawtucket Arts Festival, now celebrating its 9th year. Our next open studios event takes place on:
- Friday, September 7, 2007 from 6 -9 pm
- Saturday, September 8, 2007 from 11 am – 7 pm
- Sunday, September 9, 2007 from noon – 5 pm
This is our 2nd annual Fall open studios event. As the largest open studios event in Rhode Island the Pawtucket Open Studios has three major goals:
- Showcase artists and artisans without judgment and competition
- Welcome the public to discover and support the local artists, artisans and small businesses in the Pawtucket mills
- Stimulate business and foster professional alliances in the mills. Go to Top
Who can participate?
Pawtucket mills artists, artisans and design professionals are welcome and highly encouraged to participate in the open studio events.
- Artists and artisans from neighboring towns are welcome.
- Friends of Pawtucket studio artists who wish to share their space during the event.
- “Live-work” Pawtucket artists may participate from their home studio.
- Artists with no access to a studio, but need a space during the event.
For those with no studio, we have two fantastic group locations available with 10 x 10 units. There are 25 spaces at each building, first come, first serve:

What is the Pawtucket Open Studios Fall event all about?
This event is for the general public. It also provides an opportunity for the local and regional market sector to meet those artists, artisans, design professionals and small business owners working in the Pawtucket mills. Go to Top
How will we target our general public audience?
The Pawtucket Arts Festival will include us in their advertising agenda and comprehensive website, which begins throughout the state with the Pawtucket Red Socks “Kick-Off Concert” August 24th and ends on September 16, with the Stone Soup concert. Go to Top
Besides the general public, who else will know about our event?
Via e-mail 10,000 invitations will go to Rhode Island Architects, Designers, Developers, Corporate Facilities Heads, Interior Decorators, Hospitals, Nursing Home Owners, Art Galleries and other professionals who would be interested in our craft, art and services. Go to Top

Postcards
Each participant receives 100 postcards for the event. The postcards will be available for pick up on July 31, 2007 at two convenient locations:
- IO Labs, 560 Mineral Spring Ave.
- Ocean State Printers, 545 Pawtucket Ave.
Now that you have them, use them!!! Mail them, drop them off in local coffeehouses, restaurants and galleries. Generate curiosity, new business, new contacts! An e-mail version of the post card will be available on the web site. Send it to your clients, friends, neighbors, family and colleagues…everyone else will be doing the same.

What is your commitment to the event?
- Commit to opening your studio at least during Saturday and Sunday. The Pawtucket Arts Festival will only advertise our event for Saturday and Sunday. Use this publicity to your best advantage.
- Respect the opening hours. Your studio is your business.
- Use Friday night to invite customers and plan a kick-off gathering. One hundred other artists will also do the same thing. Take advantage of the mass of potential buyers and general excitement of a great Friday kick-off party. Go to Top
What mills are open for the event?
All buildings will be open to the public, including 545 Pawtucket Ave, 250 Esten Ave, 1005 Main Street, 560 Mineral Spring Ave and many more. Thanks to all the mill owners for their commitment to improving their buildings and to the Pawtucket Fire Department, Chief Timothy P. McLaughlin and the Fire Marshals for working with all of us to make all the mills safe for these events.

What is the Pawtucket Open Studios website?
This website is a marketing tool for each and every participant of the open studio events. It will create a homogenous and pleasant view of the mills and its inhabitants. This will become an ongoing, continually current online directory for the Pawtucket Open Studios so that:
- Professionals can locate us by our name, business name, medium, location etc…
- The local, regional and design professional press can locate us for stories and editorials.
- Individuals can locate us for their personal requirements.
- Each of us can refer our colleagues to clients.
- We can operate as a self-supporting, structured group of art and design professionals. Go to Top
The Artist Directory Template
We have created an artist directory template. Each participant will have a directory page. They are solely responsible for their page, which includes a bio, 3 photos, pertinent contact information and a 100-word description of their work.
So visitors may locate participants easily, each directory page will also include a Google or Mapquest locator map.
Each participant will have their own personal log in and will be free to upload and edit their information and pictures up to September 1, 2007. Go to Top
